A Tebby Dare Welcome

I have two sons, A and Z. A used to refer to his teddy bears as Tebby Dares and I still think it's the cutest thing. I hope you enjoy reading about my boys and the things they do and say.

Things that make me smile

1. I was reading the boys a Diego book (as in Dora and Diego) the other night, and Diego said that we had to say "Excelente". I said "Excelente". A said "Excelente". Z said "Happy Birthday".

2. Sometimes, when A is fighting sleep, I tell him to look at my face. I show him the bags under my eyes and explain that bags happen when you don't sleep. When I had to wake him up the first school day after Spring Break (and the change to daylight savings time), he said, "Mommy, you're making me have big bags in my eyes."

Smile!

Puzzling

This is the way Z puts some of our more complex puzzles together. Creative, no?

Binoculars

We recently started receiving Turtle magazine (from Aunt Colleen, I think), and one of the activities for this month is making your own binoculars (we call them binocs, per my mom). I've made about 10 sets of binocs since this magazine arrived 3-4 days ago, and today A made his first pair without (much of) my assistance. Woo Hoo!

Enjoying a spring day

A few weeks ago, we had our first real warm day, and the boys and I spent the entire day outside until dinner time. The afternoon was filled with sidewalk chalk and outside artistic events. Enjoy.

More Box Boys

I guess it's a good thing that some toys are cheap. Or at least expensive things come in boxes which can be very fun toys. This series illustrates the versatility of a diaper box. Thank you Huggies!

A little too much exposure to Pop Culture?

Is it a problem when my oldest thinks that he should draw pictures of caterpillars? ZOMBIE caterpillars, specifically. Apparently this little guy decided to eat all the other caterpillars. Hmmm. No more Plants vs. Zombies game on the iPad for any of us, I guess. Ooops.

A Taste of Spring

Ah! A lovely 60 degree day. A day without jackets, but still with long sleeves. A day with muddy shoes, but at least no snow boots. A day rediscovering the things that have been hiding under the snow for the last few months. A day to play outside as much as possible. A day that's actually almost too warm for Mom to knit outside while boys play, poke, run, yell, and just get to be boys.

These are the simple pleasures of our house today. We wish you simple pleasures too.
